Ingredients (5)
- 1.5–2 lb boneless, skinless chicken thighs (or chicken breasts)
- 1/3 cup honey
- 1/4 cup soy sauce (low sodium if you prefer)
- 4–6 cloves garlic, minced (or 1–1½ tbsp jarred minced garlic)
- 1 tbsp olive oil (or avocado oil)
Optional (not counted): salt/pepper, sesame seeds, green onions, red pepper flakes
Step-by-Step Instructions
1) Make the sauce
In a small bowl, whisk together:
- honey
- soy sauce
- minced garlic
Set aside.
2) Heat the pan
Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat.
Add 1 tbsp oil and let it get hot (shimmering).
3) Sear the chicken
Add chicken thighs in a single layer.
- Cook 4–5 minutes on the first side (don’t move them much—let them brown).
- Flip and cook 3–4 minutes on the other side.
(If using chicken breasts: pound to even thickness and cook ~4–6 minutes per side depending on thickness.)
4) Add the sauce
Reduce heat to medium.
Pour the honey-garlic sauce into the skillet around the chicken.
5) Simmer and glaze
Let it simmer 5–7 minutes, spooning sauce over the chicken occasionally, until:
- sauce thickens into a glossy glaze
- chicken reaches 165°F internal temp
6) Rest + serve
Remove from heat and let rest 2 minutes.
Spoon extra sauce over the top.
Optional garnish: sesame seeds + chopped green onions.
