The 5 Ingredients You’ll Need
- Cheese tortellini: 20 oz package (fresh or frozen)
- Basil pesto: 1 cup
- Heavy cream: ½ cup
- Parmesan cheese: ¾ cup grated
- Garlic: 3 cloves, minced
Step-by-Step Instructions
Step 1: Cook the Tortellini
Boil a large pot of salted water. Cook tortellini according to package directions. Pro tip: Save 1 cup of the pasta water before draining!
Step 2: Sauté the Garlic
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Sauté minced garlic for 30-60 seconds until fragrant.
Step 3: Add Pesto and Cream
Pour in the pesto and heavy cream. Stir until you have a creamy green sauce and let it simmer for 2 minutes.
Step 4: Add the Parmesan
Lower the heat and stir in half of the Parmesan cheese until melted. If it’s too thick, add a splash of that saved pasta water.
